Six whiting fillets marinated overnight with olive oil and aromatic herbs.
Ingredients
- 6 frozen whiting fillets (check for sodium additives)
- 2–3 tablespoons olive oil
- Thyme
- Rosemary
- Salt-free garlic powder
- Sage
- Black pepper
Why it works
Season until the fillets look decorated — not scant, but not buried in herbs.
Step-by-step instructions
- If vacuum-packed, follow manufacturer directions for safe thawing; remove from vacuum packaging before refrigerator thawing when instructed.
- Place frozen fillets with olive oil and herbs in a covered food-safe container; refrigerate overnight to thaw and marinate, at 40°F or colder.
- Ensure fish is completely thawed before baking. Arrange in a glass or other oven-safe dish.
- Bake at 315°F for approximately 30 minutes, adjusting for thickness, until the thickest part reaches 145°F.
No added salt means no salt added during preparation; naturally occurring sodium varies by ingredient. Check package labels.
